COURSE DESCRIPTION: The race is a flat course and is an extremely fast race.
HIGH SCHOOL RACE INFORMATION: Due to the increased interest in running from age-group runners, the City of Baldwin Park added a High School Road Race to its Annual Pride of the Valley 5K Run in 1997. Since its introduction, the High School Road Race has attracted runners and teams from high schools all over Southern California and set many course records in the spirit of competition and fun.
LOCATION: Morgan Park ~ 4100 Baldwin Park Blvd ~ Baldwin Park
RULES: No high school uniforms allowed • Teams must consist of a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 7 participants • Teams can consist of of any combination of grade levels (9th-12th), for boys & girls • Category is open to youth teams eager to compete in team road race. •High School runners will compete unattached*Participants will participate in the grade level entering in the fall*The high school with the most teams will win a 10x10 canopy!
POST RACE FESTIVITIES: Post-Race party, with free refreshments, live entertainment and an awards ceremony.
AWARDS: Overall top THREE boys & girls teams in the High School Road Race will receive awards.
RAFFLE: All registered participants will automatically be entered in the grand prize drawing at 9:45am. Prizes include a pair of running shoes provided by The Runner's Zone in Whittier, CA, and much more. Winners must be present to win.
Proceeds from the Pride of the Valley 5K Run have helped offset the cost of youth community programs.
