| | | | FLASH REPORT #1, 7:44 a.m. -- Saugus frosh-soph crew (including varsity regulars Frankin, Bulder, and Hernando) roll to blowout win in 94:28 team time, with Frankian winning race in 18:29. Saugus will run a split squad today, also running select varsity regulars in the championship race. FLASH REPORT #2, 9:29 a.m. -- Saugus split squad runs sensational 91:27 in Large Schools Girls race to score 18 points (2nd was Arroyo Grande with 138 points, 98:15). Combining all Saugus girls from both races above unofficially yields 91:24 team time. FLASH REPORT #3, 10:23 a.m. -- Mountain View (CCS) wins Girls Championshipm race with 134 points (94:18. Second was Crescenta Valley with 140 (94:38) and then Oak Ridge 158 (95:02). Mira Costa 174 (95:12), Carondelet 181 (95:0)6, Davis 181 (95:30), West Ranch 184 (95:32), Esperanza 194 (95:31), Kin 194 (95:28), Buchanan 203 (96:01). FLASH REPORT #4, 11:05 a.m. -- Buchanan of Clovis rolled to an 85-point performance on its home course and the state meet course to win the Champonship boys race with a team time of 78:10 and a 48-second spread! OH MY!!!! Second was Thousand Oaks, a Division II school, with 147 points (79:11) and Arcadia was third with 163 points (79:23). Their 94:31 clocking is a frosh/soph course record and also #43 in course history! This "second unit" would have finished third overall today, trailing only the Saugus varsity and the Mountain View varsity; both raced in the seeded section.
