Patrick Henry at Big Bear
San Diego Section up in Altitude for Camp
Thanks to Coach Tom Sweet and Andrew Myette for the Pictures and Summary Patrick Henry of San Diego brought a record 63 runners, together with 10 coaches, drivers, and parents to Big Bear for altitude running and team building. From August 13 through the 16th, we took over the Big Bear Lake Mountain Resort Hostel, and had a great time running Cougar Crest, the PCT to Gold Mountain, and parts of Forest Road 2N10. A highlight was presenting part of our summer mile total to the Ryan Hall "Move a Million Mile" campaign. For the first time in seven years it rained! The Henry boys return their top four and five of the top seven, including state 2 mile qualifier Kellen Blumberg, as they challenge for a state meet berth out of the San Diego Section. The girls lose their top two runners, but return experience and add a flock of new freshman to defend their Eastern League title.
