Team times are the sum of adding 5 member's 2-mile times together from the same day. Team members and their performances are listed for the fastest boys teams. The best performance by each school is typed in all caps. Schools making the list more than once are denoted 2 ways in their secondary appearances: One, if from a different year, they have have been typed in caps and lower case, and, two, if from the same year as team listed above it, they have been typed in caps and lower case and indented. Although in recent years there has been only one 2-mile Postal each season, this was not the case through the '60s and early-'70s, when sometimes as many as 4 or 5 postals would be held each season. If fact, for 9 years (1969-77) a 3-mile Postal was held in addition to the 2-mile Postal. Unfortunately, interest faded in this distance, which is much closer to current cross country distances. In fairness, however, it should be pointed out that the 2-mile's popularity is explained by its almost universal acceptance during the track season.
